This beautiful Red Admiral butterfly has been hanging about our yard for a few days now. Whenever we go outside, it always lands right near where we are, almost like saying hello!
Such a pretty butterfly, don’t you think?
There is a little grove of Bluebells and some other little wildflowers growing in the woods near my home. I saw them last year about this same time, but this year they seem to have spread more. They are just beautiful and such a pretty splash of color with pinks and blues and whites! (Click on blog link for other photo.)
So pretty, don’t you think?
I love riding by this flag on the way to First Encounter Beach. It was first put there in 1976 and is made of painted clam shells. So creative! It looks like it’s been freshly painted for the new summer season.
“Memorial Day is a holiday which honors America’s military men and women who lost their lives in service to their country.”
It seems like we spend the last part of the winter waiting patiently for our favorite birds to return for the new season. (Click on blog link for other photo.)
We saw a few Piping Plovers scurrying about the beach the other day. They were down by the water and up high on the beach running in and out of the seaweed. We didn’t see any babies… maybe it’s still a bit early. We didn’t see any nests either, but they are usually well hidden.
Have you seen any Piping Plovers this season?
