Spring is coming… very slowly! We’ve had a few warm days and a lot of cold, windy, rainy days. But, the Daffodils are starting to bloom and bring some vibrant color to the landscape.
Wishing you all a Happy Easter! May the Easter Bunny bring you lots of chocolate and may you find a few minutes to get outside and enjoy everything outside!
We were driving home from our picnic breakfast the other morning when we came across this deer on the side of the road. He was certainly enjoying the new spring growth of green leaves on the bushes.
He just looked at me, so I clicked. Beautiful deer, don’t you think?
I heard a little rustle in the leaves as we were walking along the boardwalk on the Red Maple Swamp Trail. It didn’t sound like an animal as the sound was too consistent. I thought perhaps it was a snake. (Click on blog link for other photos.)
I had never seen a Garter Snake before so it was pretty cool when we spotted it among the leaves and dead branches on the side of the trail. “Garter snakes are indigenous to North America and found widely across the continent. Most common garter snakes have a pattern of yellow stripes on a black, brown or green background, and their average total length is about 22 inches.”
It seems like there is always a fishing boat docked at MacMillan Pier. The Yankee Rose was just beautiful on the dock with that gorgeous sky and They Faced The Sea mural in the background. You never know what you’ll see at the Pier, but it’s always pretty unique!
