The walk across the bridge at Nauset Marsh from Doane Rock to Coast Guard Beach is one of my favorite hikes. It is always spectacular!
If you get to Cape Cod, put it on your To-Do list! It’s an awesome hike!
I had never seen a Hairy Solomon’s Seal wildflower until I saw this one at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary on Cape Cod. I had no idea what it was!
It is really interesting in that it grows to about 24″ with 1/2″ greenish-white bell-like flowers which dangle from the leaf axils. You can see them shortly after you leave the visitor’s center in May and June.
Have you ever seen a Hairy Solomon’s Seal wildflower?
The channel was not busy yet with boats for the summer season. This lone boat was making its way back to shore at high tide. Boats going in or out of Rock Harbor must proceed within 2 hours of high tide or they risk getting stuck until the tide comes in again.
I thought it was such a pretty photograph with the dark blue sky and white clouds… what do you think?
