Saturday was a gorgeous day at Coast Guard Beach. The sun was out and the temps were somewhat warm, in the 50s. The waves were perfect for the surfers who braved the cold waters to have a bit of fun. (Click on blog link for other photos.)
I loved the 2nd photo; it is a classic!
And the last photo was the two of them surfing near each other. Great entertainment for the surfers and all of the onlookers.
They’re back! Those adorable little summer-resident Piping Plovers are back at Coast Guard Beach. It was such a treat to see 3 of them scurrying along the water’s edge looking for their food of small insects and invertebrates. (Click on blog link for other photos.)
The ironic part was that I had just looked up on the “Checklist of Birds on Cape Cod” on the drive over to Coast Guard Beach to see when they would arrive. It said “late March or April,” so I had my fingers crossed.
Adorable little guys, don’t you think? They should be here till the end of September, so you have lots of time to see them!
Pretty soon the trails to the beaches on Cape Cod will be busy with people again. This path to Marconi Beach is so pretty with the fence on either side.
The Pamet Cranberry Bog Trail in Truro has a huge diversification of things to see and explore. One of my favorite parts is hiking up and over the dunes toward the end of the trail. (Click on blog link for other photos.)
The views of Ballston Beach and the ocean are just spectacular!
It’s a great hike just out to the dunes and then back down. You won’t be disappointed!
