500+ Sanderlings Feeding On The Mud Flats Of Nauset Marsh On Cape Cod.

Sometimes you just happen to be in the right place at the right time… and with camera in hand. (Click on the blog link for other photos.)

It was so much fun watching these 500+ Sanderlings moving around the mud flats while feeding at Nauset Marsh.

They seemed to  move as a huge flock, often looking like they were performing water ballet in the sky. It was just spectacular!

The Wind Finally Died Down For A Beautiful Walk At Fort Hill On Cape Cod.

Yesterday was first day in a long time where the wind wasn’t howling. We decided to take advantage of the calmer weather and take a nice morning walk at Fort Hill. It was just gorgeous with those beautiful clouds in the sky! (Click on blog link for other photo. )

Then I decided to edit the photo with a more dramatic tone. What do you think? Which one do you like better?

Beautiful Eastern Meadowlark At Fort Hill On Cape Cod.

It’s been so cold and so windy here on the Cape that sometimes it’s nice just to take a drive. We stopped at Fort Hill yesterday morning, not expecting to see anything. It was so windy, the car was shaking!

All of a sudden, I saw some movement in the grass. At first I thought it was a Flicker with its black patch on its breast, but  then it lifted its head high and I could see bright yellow on its chest. Could it be an Eastern Meadowlark? What a treat to see this colorful bird on this frigid cold winter morning!

Snow-Covered Boats At Hemenway Landing On Cape Cod.

It had snowed a few days ago and the tide was going out and this was just so pretty with the snow-covered boats at Hemenway Landing. (Click on blog link for other photo.)

Phil really loves black and white photography, so he will frequently take the same pic as me and then we compare. I can’t decide on this one. What do you think?
