50th Cape Cod Oldtimers Long Board Classic At Whitecrest Beach Yesterday.

The 50th Cape Cod Oldtimers Longboard Classic was held yesterday at Whitecrest Beach in Wellfleet. (Click on blog link for other photos.)

“The Cape Cod Oldtimers Longboard Classic was established in 1974 through Jasper’s Surf Shop in Eastham, MA. The surfing contest has been a fundraising event from the very beginning. Originally, all of the proceeds were donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod. Since the passing of Kenney Norton, one of the original organizers, a portion of the proceeds have been used to maintain the Kenney Norton Scholarship Fund.”

The dunes and the beach were packed with people who came out to see these Oldtimers. It was a bit foggy so not the best of viewing conditions, but a lot of fun for all who were there.

Iconic Drive To Coast Guard Beach On Cape Cod.

Yesterday evening I took a drive to Coast Guard Beach and Nauset Light Beach, hoping for some cooler temperatures than at my house and maybe a good photo before the approaching storm this weekend. The waves were supposed to be big!

I wasn’t disappointed at all! While the waves were not very big, this iconic view of Coast Guard Beach and  Coast Guard Station was spectacular! What do you think?
