This is one of my favorite beach trails leading to Cape Cod Bay. So, when the snowflakes were falling the other day, I thought it might make a pretty photograph.
Gorgeous view, don’t you think?
The winter of 2018 was quite harsh for Cape Cod… from eroding beaches and dunes to heavy winds and microbursts that downed many trees in the area. We lost 5 huge trees in our yard alone.
You can still see some of the the 200+ trees that were felled by the many nor’easters from January through March of 2018 as you hike along some of the trails in Nickerson State Park in Brewster.
The volunteers at Nickerson do an exceptional job keeping the trails clean and hikeable and bikeable all year long. Thank you at Nickerson State Park, it certainly is an enjoyable place to hike.
If you want a place to sit and relax or read or visit or picnic, or just about anything , there is no shortage of benches here on Cape Cod. You just have to look around and find one that suits you. (Click on blog link for full photo.)
I found this bench on the beach at Flax Pond in Nickerson State Park in Brewster. It looks perfect for just about anything! You can hike around the pond until you find a bench or you can park your car fairly close and just walk there.
This one looks pretty inviting, don’t you think? Have you found the perfect bench to relax?
We have been having so much making new trails with the AllTrails app in Nickerson State Park. There are so many different trails in which to make your route and all are so different! (Click on blog link to see full photo.)
On our latest new hike we came across this tree trunk that I thought was hilarious! It looks like a moose’s hoof, don’t you think? And the tree is probably 30 feet tall.
You never know what you will see on the trails as long as you keep your eyes open and look for those unique things!
