As we had a picnic breakfast at low tide on the bay side, this beautiful Great Blue Heron was searching for breakfast near the flats.
I thought it was such a pretty photograph with all the different colors and textures. What do you think?
I was walking along the beach on the Eastham side of Rock Harbor when I saw this reflection of the CG36500, the boat that was featured in the Disney movie, The Finest Hours. Unbelievable story… and hard to imagine rescuing 33 men in this boat in a raging nor’easter off of Cape Cod on January 29, 1952.
When I turned around to head back home, the reflection was gone.
Pretty cool, huh?
We took a drive up to Provincetown and stopped at Herring Cove Beach the other day. We had not been there in a couple of years and the changes were amazing! There is a new road and parking lot. Here you can see all of the beach grass that they planted to keep erosion down. The trails leading from the parking lot to the beach are spread out and fenced in along the newly planted beach grass.
Kudos to the Cape Cod National Seashore. It looks fantastic… and the beach looks huge! You can even see the Race Point Lighthouse way in the distance.
