I saw this old Horseshoe in the beach grass near the flats on Cape Cod Bay. It is covered with shellfish and barnacles that have attached themselves to its shell. It looks ancient… I wonder how old it is.
Any ideas?
It’s been cold enough to form ice on the salt marshes here on Cape Cod. I took one photograph as I was walking to Boat Meadow Beach the other day and the other photo on the way home about 1/2 hour later. (Click on blog link to see other photo.)
They are so pretty, but so different. Look at those clouds!
I love hiking White Cedar Swamp Trail, especially off-season. Rarely do you see another person, so you have the whole trail to yourself. Once you get to the boardwalk, it becomes magical.
Look at those colors! They are just spectacular! I took these photographs a couple of days ago on a very cloudy day. It always takes my breath away.
Wishing you a Happy and Magical New Year!
One of our favorite places to hike on Cape Cod, Fort Hill in Eastham, is only a few minutes from our home. Since the Wilderness Volunteers cut back a lot of the brush, the views are spectacular!
This is one of the glacial rocks that has been obscured for years behind the dense brush. Now you can see all the way across Nauset marsh to Coast Guard Station.
So pretty! Thank you again, Wilderness Volunteers!
