This Sunfish is ready and waiting for the tide to come in a bit so it can go for a sail at Wellfleet Harbor. I loved the vibrant colors of the sail against the deep blue water and the interesting cloud formations in the sky.

Two Cabbage White Butterflies On Cape Cod.
There is always an abundance of Cabbage White butterflies flitting about on Cape Cod, but I don’t often get two in the same frame. They are usually too busy flying about to land on anything for very long.
Cabbage White butterflies have charcoal wingtips. The females have 2 FW spots while the males have just one. Have you ever seen a Cabbage White? Pretty, don’t you think?
Gorgeous Orange Trumpet-Creeper Wildflowers On Cape Cod!
The Trumpet-Creeper wildflowers are blooming on Cape Cod and they are spectacular! The 2″ bright reddish-orange tubular-shaped flowers grow on a woody vine that can climb to 12 feet tall. They are native to this area and bloom from July to September. (Click blog link for other photos.)
The first photo is of the cluster of flowers. The 2nd photograph shows how they grow in clusters and the 3rd photograph shows how the vine grows. This one was only about 8 feet tall but I’m sure will grow taller.

Gorgeous Day At Hemenway Landing On Cape Cod!
Osprey Feeding On the Blue Boxes On Cape Cod.
We have an Osprey who really takes advantage of the “blue boxes” on the salt marsh at Boat Meadow Creek. The blue boxes are put out each summer to help control mosquitoes and other insects near the salt marsh. (Click blog link to see other photo.)
This Osprey uses it as its perch to see the fish nearby. He then flies off, catches his fish and then brings it back to the blue box to eat, or sometimes to the telephone pole nearby. Pretty clever, huh? You can see the fish in its talons as he flies away.
