Yesterday it crowded at Coast Guard Beach! I’ve never seen so many people enjoying the gorgeous day. It was that perfect beach day… sunny and warm. And it was a nice surprise with all that we’ve been reading in the news about the Cape. (Click blog link to see other photo.)
And… people were enjoying the cool water to escape the heat of the beach. It was the perfect summer day!
The hot pink Everlasting Peas are blooming all over Cape Cod. They are especially abundant at Fort Hill where they paint the meadows pink. They are so pretty. (Click on blog link for another photo.)
They bloom from July to September, so you still have plenty of time to see these gorgeous wildflowers!
There are new Shark Signs at all of the beaches on Cape Cod, both ocean beaches and bayside beaches. With all of the shark sightings in the past few years and the tragedy last summer, hopefully the signs will help if anyone gets in trouble, and make people aware of the possibility of sharks in the waters off of Cape Cod.
I had never seen a Coral Hairstreak before, so when I took this photograph, I had to do a little research. They are a small butterfly, only 1-1 1/4″ and overall brown with bright coral markings.
Have you ever seen a Coral Hairstreak? Beautiful butterfly, don’t you think? Love how it landed on the orange Butterfly Weed Plant… so pretty. It seems like everytime I go to Fort Hill I see another new butterfly. Such a magical place.
I love it when the baby birds are fed by their parents at our bird feeders. It is such a beautiful scene to watch. This little Baltimore Oriole doesn’t look much smaller than its parent. (Click blog link to see other photo.)
So much fun to watch them grow and right in our backyard…
