Yesterday was a gorgeous day at Coast Guard Beach on Cape Cod, voted one of the Top 10 beaches in the USA. It is also part of the Cape Cod National Seashore. We decided to take a late afternoon walk along the beach as the forecast was for heavy surf and the waves should be huge.
We were so surprised to see how many people were still at the beach at 5:00 pm. It was packed as everyone was thoroughly enjoying the spectacular summer day and the ambiance of being at one of the most beautiful beaches in our country.
This little Chipmunk was so funny as he kept climbing the trees in our backyard. He’d go running up the tree to about 15 feet high, look around and then run down. He did this over and over again.
I always love the pretty Morning Glory wildflowers here on Cape Cod. They got their name “Morning Glory” because their flowers unravel into full bloom in the early morning. The flowers usually start to fade a few hours before the “petals” start showing visible curling.
Morning Glory flowers are funnel-shaped flowers with 5 stamens. They grow on a trailing vine.
Have you ever seen a Morning Glory? I saw this one right by the path at the Coast Guard Station at Coast Guard Beach.
The tide was low and the waters were calm… not a breeze anywhere nearby. Perfect day for a photograph with reflections.
I stopped by bike at Rock Harbor early in the morning and took this photograph of the boats in their boatslips at Rock Harbor. So pretty with all of the reflections, don’t you think?
Such a cute photograph of these two friends at Coast Guard Beach who were obviously have a great time! Beautiful day with a little wind and some waves in the background.
