Contortionist Grackle At Our Suet Feeder On Cape Cod

The Grackles are pretty pesky in their persistence in getting our suet from the feeder. They will try anything and are often successful.

Phil thought he had a foolproof idea this time. He put an empty suet feeder under the full one so the Grackles and Blue Jays couldn’t jump up and get it. It worked for a bit…until this contortionist Grackle figured out how to get the suet…upside down!

Amazing, huh?

The Canteen In Provincetown On Cape Cod

The Canteen is a cool little restaurant on Commercial Street in the center of Provincetown. I liked the 2 old bikes in front.

It looks like a fun place to go, don’t you think? It almost looks retro, like a restaurant of the past.

Housed in a 200 year-old building, The Canteen dining room opens onto the bustle of downtown Provincetown and their backyard seating area opens out onto Cape Cod Bay.

Waiting For High Tide At Rock Harbor On Cape Cod

I was taking one of my early morning bikes rides and stopped at Rock Harbor in Orleans. It is just beautiful. It was 6:00 am and there was no one around… so peaceful.  Then I looked at the tide and it was low tide so no one could get their boat out because the channel was way too low.

The sky was so pretty so I clicked away. I couldn’t decide if I liked the photograph better with the boat in the foreground or the one with just the boat reflection in the foreground.

What do you think? Which one do you like better?

Pretty Yellow Mouse-Ear Hawkweed Wildflowers On Cape Cod

These yellow Mouse-Ear wildflowers are growing everywhere here on Cape Cod. They are really pretty and seem to grow like fields of flowers.

I saw many of them on the trails at Fort Hill in Eastham on Cape Cod. I loved this macro where you can see the center of the flower.

What do you think?

Mouse-Ear Hawkweed is the only one of the Hawkweeds which a mere amateur has any chance of identifying it. Hawkweed is used in sunscreen lotions.
