We always know when the Red-Bellied Woodpecker is hungry at the Wellfleet Wildlife Sanctuary because you can her squawking from far away! You can walk down the Silver Spring trail and hopefully see her poking her head out of the hole in the tree, which is her home about 20 feet up.
Have you ever seen a Woodpecker’s hole in a tree? Pretty cool, don’t you think?
I saw this beautiful blue wildflower at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary the other day, in the garden outside the Nature Center. I think it is Blue-Eyed Grass, It was so pretty and so delicate.
Does anyone know if it is Blue-Eyed Grass?
Since I wrote this Blog, someone commented that it is a Glory of the Snow wildflower. Kudos to my readers for taking the time to help me identify it! Thank you!!
