Beautiful Northern Flickers In Our Yard On Cape Cod

These two Northern Flickers, part of the woodpecker family,  were foraging in the leaves around our yard, looking for some food. I loved how I could get a photograph of the two of them… one so you can see its front and the other so you can see its back. Their markings are amazing.

In this second photograph you can really see its underside which is so pretty and almost looks like down. Look at those black dots on its feathers. Just beautiful…

Beautiful Day At First Encounter Beach On Cape Cod

This was such a pretty day at First Encounter Beach in Eastham on Cape Cod Bay. This is the beach where a hunting expedition from the sailing vessel the Mayflower,  “first encountered” Native Americans in 1620.

Pretty cool, don’t you think?

Wiley Park In Eastham On Cape Cod After A Light Snow

Wiley Park in Eastham is such a pretty place to take a hike… any time of the year. We were there a few days ago after we had gotten about 6″ of light, fluffy snow.

And then… the storm hit and we ended up with about 18-20″. Unbelievable! It was way over our knees just walking around our yard.

Such a pretty photograph with the white snow-covered trees and the blue sky. What do you think?
