Handmade Boat Builders Show On Cape Cod Is In Hyannis This Weekend.

o

If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, head out to the Handmade Boat Builders Show in Hyannis. There is so much to see and learn. (Click on blog link for other photos.)

“The Boat Builders Show on Cape Cod was created 18 years ago to showcase the boats built by smaller, independent boat builders. It is one of the few boat shows in the country dedicated to providing these builders an opportunity to showcase their work and demonstrate to the boating public the level of quality and personal service that is available.”

If you’re thinking about buying a handmade boat, the boat show has many different sizes , shapes and interest levels. “Don’t miss the boat!”

An Exciting Start To A New Boating Season!

You can see the boats that are the first ones  launched at Arey’s Pond this season. They are cleaned and rigged on the dock and then taken out to their moorings. Pretty soon the pond will be filled with sailboats ready to take that maiden voyage down the river and out to Pleasant Bay.  It’s such an exciting time of the year!

Love These Two Green Herons On Cape Cod.

These 2 Green Herons were so much fun to watch the other morning. It looks like a mother and a young one. (Click on blog link for other photos.)

The larger one would walk along the rail and the little one would follow along. At one point, it looked like they were fighting as the parent tried to get away.

The last photograph almost looks like the parent is reprimanding the little one. So much fun to watch… and then they both flew away!

30th Annual Arey’s Pond Cat Gathering On Cape Cod.

Yesterday was the 30th Annual Arey’s Pond Cat Gathering, one of the largest gatherings of catboats on the east coast. (Click on blog link for other photo.)

“Our annual Cat Gathering is a time for catboats of all shapes and sizes to come together for a just-for-fun regatta through Pleasant Bay. Every year over 80 boats come together for this parade of sail.”

It was just spectacular to see all of those sailboats out on the water!
