We had stopped to watch all of the bird activity at Arey’s Pond the other morning when we saw 3 Belted Kingfishers flying about looking for food. (Click on blog link for other photo.)
I couldn’t get them all in one frame but this one looked like a baby waiting for his parent to feed him. Meanwhile, we watched the adult eat what looked like a turtle and then something else…maybe a fish?
I love walking out on the docks at Arey’s Pond Boat Yard in Orleans. There is always so much going on. Such a great view of the sailboats and motorboats and dinghys ready to go!
The moorings are back in the water at Arey’s Pond and soon the boats will be launched and ready to go. It is such an exciting time at Arey’s Pond for all those who have a sailboat there. Pretty soon it will be warm enough to motor down the river and enjoy a wonderful sail!
