It sure has been a very windy winter here on the Cape with the past few days seeing gusts around 45 mph. I wanted to get a video, but the sand was blowing right in my face as soon as I opened the car door. I settled on a photo of the churning waters at Rock Harbor while still sitting in my car!
We had stopped at Hemenway for a picnic lunch when this coyote strolled by… and then another. I couldn’t get my camera out in time. And then a few minutes later, one strolled back and then came the other. I was able to get my iPhone out and got one quick photograph. This is it!
It was cool as we’d never seen coyotes there before! Have you?
After the snow over the weekend, it was a beautiful day for a hike on the Nauset Marsh Trail. There were a few footprints in the snow, but not too many.
As you round the first bend by the Salt Pond, you can see that the tide was pretty high. Make sure you go left and up at the fork or you’ll need your high rubber boots to get through the water on the trail. It was higher than I’ve ever seen it. Wow!
Every time we take a walk on Coast Guard Beach it looks so different. This morning was cloudy with just little peeks of sun, but so pretty! The beach looked huge!
Wiley Park is one of my favorite places to hike whether it’s summer or winter. I love the soft pine-needle trails and all of the pretty views of the ponds. There is always something new to see.
