Sometimes I love stormy days at the beach, especially on Cape Cod. I took this photograph a few days ago when the winds were howling and the waves were rolling on Cape Cod Bay. But the seas were pretty quiet on Boat Meadow beach.
I loved the lighting on the tall grasses that have turned so yellowish brown this fall. Pretty, don’t you think?
This little red male Cardinal was searching the pine needles on the ground at Wiley Park for food. He was scurrying here and there, but stopped to have his photograph taken.
Beautiful bird, don’t you think? I just love the Cardinal. So majestic!
If you haven’t hiked the Salt Pond Trail in Eastham on Cape Cod, put it on your list. It’s part of the National Seashore and takes you through many diverse habitats, even though it is not a long hike.
I loved this photograph of going over the bridge with Nauset Marsh in the background. Aren’t the clouds gorgeous?
There were wild turkeys everywhere at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary in Wellfleet on Cape Cod. It was fun to watch them peck away looking for food.
I thought this was the perfect Blog for Thanksgiving so… Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving. May you find a few minutes to go outside and see something special in nature.
We were taking a short hike at Fort Hill on the National Seashore the other day when I saw a lot of commotion out at Nauset Break. I didn’t have my binoculars with me so I zoomed in with my camera and took a few photographs.
When I got home I could see that there were hundreds of birds flying about out there as well as resting on the beaches. I wonder if there was an abundance of fish out there that they were feeding on or why they were there?
Any ideas?
