Memorial Bonfire At Nauset Beach On Cape Cod Was Amazing!

bonfire1blog

The Paul Fulcher Memorial Bonfire at Nauset Beach in Orleans on Cape Cod last Saturday was an amazing event!

The bonfire  was part of Orleans Pond Coalition’s “Celebrate our Waters” annual event. This entire event was held on Friday through Sunday. It was unbelievable! There were events for everyone… from museum tours to hikes to bird watching to sailing to paddle boarding or kayaking and boat tours of the harbor and much more. These events were all day and free!

We went down to Nauset Beach about 5:00 on Saturday evening and had a picnic on the beach while we listened to the Lower Cape Concert Band.

Over 3,000 people came to the bonfire which was lit just after dusk. It was so much fun and people were having a blast!

If you didn’t make it this year, put it on your calendar for next year and don’t miss Orlean’s “Celebrate our Waters.” It’s a great weekend event!

Pretty Dried Orange Japanese Lantern Flowers On Cape Cod

orange-dried-flowerblog

I was taking a walk the other day in Orleans on Cape Cod when I saw this pretty orange wildflower that looks like it is dried. It was so interesting and so vibrant in color.

Does anyone know what kind of wildflower it is? I will have to get some new wildflower, birds, wildlife, etc . books for the Cape Cod area. A new adventure…

Four Chamber Get-Together At Truro Vineyards Was A Blast!

meltruroblog

Phil and I were invited to the annual 4 Chambers of Commerce get-together at Truro Vineyards last week. Business people from Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet and Eastham tasted some wine, ate delicious h’ors d’oeurves donated by some of the local restaurants and networked with each other.

What a great way to meet new people and see some old ones. We had a blast!

They Started Digging For Our New Home On Cape Cod

We recently moved from Estes Park, Colorado to Cape Cod. And we are lucky in that we arrived before they put the shovel to the dirt.

We are so excited to be back on the east coast and near the water and beaches and the grandkids!!   🙂

So I thought I’d post a few photographs of our new home as it goes up… so exciting!
