Beautiful Common Eider At Boat Meadow Creek On Cape Cod.

I took a walk to the beach hoping that I might see a “winter bird” at Boat Meadow Creek and I was pleasantly surprised. Here was a male Common Eider swimming about with an occasional dive for food.  (Click on blog link for other photo.)

Beautiful bird, don’t you think? Have you seen one this winter yet?

Cute Little Downy Woodpecker In Our Bird House.

This little Downy Woodpecker has been hanging out in the bird house outside of our bedroom window. We see him each morning as it starts to get light. He must be spending the night there.

He is so cute when he puts his little head out the door and looks around. I love the feathers on his chin… it looks almost like a little goatee.

How cute is he?!

Semipalmated Plover At Coast Guard Beach On Cape Cod.

This little Semipalmated Plover was scurrying around on Coast Guard Beach. He was so close, you can really see the coloring and details on him. Have you ever seen a Semipalmated Plover? Cute little bird, don’t you think?
