The Bluebirds are back and hungry at our bird feeders. I love watching them patiently wait their turn as it seems like only one likes to feed at a time. (Click blog link for other photo.)
This is the same Bluebird atop the feeder pole, just at different angles. Such different coloring from the summer… much more muted. Beautiful little bird!
It was so cool to see this Black-bellied Plover at Boat Meadow Beach the other day. I took quite a few photographs as I couldn’t identify it then and there. When I got home I put it on my iBird PRO app and realized that it was a Black-bellied Plover in its winter coloring.
I did some research and learned that many of them winter here on Cape Cod and are also seen during migration. I had never seen one there before so that was a first for me! Very cool, don’t you think?
This little Tufted Titmouse was searching for food along the side of the Beech Forest Trail in Provincetown. He stopped long enough to look at me so I could get a nice photograph.
I thought it would be fun to post a photograph of one of Cape Cod’s many Wild Turkeys on Thanksgiving. I took this photo last summer when this male was strutting around our yard courting a female. It was quite a sight to see!
Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving! May you find a few minutes to go outside and enjoy some nature… after your delicious Thanksgiving meal.
