This little Catbird was singing away on the Red Maple Swamp Trail at Fort Hill on Cape Cod. We could see him through the bushes in the distance, perched on the branch.
He looks like a young one with his fluffy feathers, don’t you think? So cute!
I took a walk to Boat Meadow Beach the other morning and was surprised at how many birds there were on the beach. It was mid-tide …so not too high and not too low. I had my phone but had forgotten my camera. Thankfully, I don’t do that very often.
You can see the larger Seagulls with about 50 little Semipalmated Plovers scurrying about. When I got home and looked on my computer I could see two birds flying above. I thought it was so pretty.
I kind of like the grainy way it looks from zooming in on my iPhone. What do you think?
It was fun to watch the Double-crested Cormorants diving for food at Rock Harbor. There were quite a few of them and they were quite busy. They’d swim around bit and then dive way under. You never knew where they would surface, so you never knew where to focus your camera.
This guy was right next to the pier before he went looking for lunch. They should be around at least for another month before they head south and are really fun to watch.
The nest in our yard where Red-tailed Hawk used to lay its eggs and then raise its young blew away during one of the ferocious storms last winter, so I haven’t seen too many Red-tailed Hawks this summer.
This was such a treat to see this hawk perched in one of the trees by the salt marsh, probably looking for breakfast.
Beautiful bird, don’t you think?
This little baby Swallow was sitting on the wooden fence at Fort Hill waiting for its mom to come by a few days ago. There were 3 little ones and they were so cute!I wasn’t sure if they were having flying lessons or what… they would sit on the fence and wait for mom.
They were so cute!
I went back yesterday and the Swallows seem to have migrated already. I didn’t see one! Wow! That was fast!
