The Shadows Are Getting Longer On Cape Cod

I rode my bike down to First Encounter Beach in Eastham  so I could get a photograph of the beautiful beach early in the morning.

I loved this photograph. I laughed when I saw that I got my long shadow and those of the signs and beach fence as I photographed the beautiful beach. Funny, don’t you think?

It makes me think that summer is almost over as the shadows are getting so much longer this time of year.

Early Morning At First Encounter Beach On Cape Cod

The bike ride to First Encounter Beach in Eastham is just spectacular as you ride next to the beautiful salt marshes where you can see the Osprey up above and hear all of the morning birds with all their chatter.

If you go past the main parking lot and down the road, you come to 3 different trails over the dunes that will lead you to the beach. One of them is handicap- accessible with its blue rubber mat which make it easier for wheelchairs and strollers. These paths lead to the beach, but far from the main crowd.

Such a beautiful setting…

First Encounter Beach On Cape Cod Was Spectacular!

The clouds in the sky at First Encounter Beach in Eastham on Cape Cod were just spectacular! It doesn’t get much prettier!

First Encounter Beach was so named because it where the “first encounter” occurred between the Native Americans and the Pilgrims. There is  a marker where you can read all about it right at the top of the beach.

Very cool!
