We hiked out around Cliff Pond the other day and the views were unbelievable. If you stood one way, you got the first photograph. If you turned around, you got the 2nd one. (Click on blog link to see other photo.)
Both are pretty spectacular, don’t you think? Great place to take photographs!
We took a hike around Flax Pond after lunch one day last week where there are many benches by the water to just sit and relax… which is what I did. Phil took this photograph from behind.
I loved it! The sun looks magical and those beautiful reflections on the water. What do you think?
It was another cold and windy day so we headed inland over to Nickerson State Park. We had never hiked the Flax Pond Loop Trail so we thought we’d give it a “go.” (Click on blog link to see other photos.)
What a beautiful hike! Most of the trail is within a few feet of the pond which makes it so pretty and great for taking photographs. We started out on the shady side which was a bit brisk to start but ended on the sunny side which was much warmer.
It was a sunny day so you can see all the beautiful reflections in the pond as you hike around. There are also a lot of beaches for swimming, picnic tables for picnicking and benches for sitting. We thought about how much fun families and especially the kids would have during the summer months.
Just beautiful, don’t you think? Have you ever been to Nickerson State Park in the summer?
When it’s windy out, and it’s been very windy lately, we head to an inland trail. We have found quite a few at Nickerson State Park in Brewster. (Click on blog link to see other photo.)
One of our favorite hikes is hiking part way around Cliff Pond and then around Little Cliff Pond. It is just gorgeous and the trails are maintained so well. We are always so impressed.
Beautiful, don’t you think? The kettle ponds are so pretty and look at that sky!
Have you ever hiked Nickerson? Perfect time of the year for it!
I was up in Boston last weekend when Phil texted me that he was going to go for a hike. With the AllTrails App, he sent me his route around Cliff Pond. I could log on at anytime and see exactly where he was, which you can see on the map. The app would also send me periodic texts of where he was or he could send me a text of where he was on the route.
What a great feature, called Lifeline, especially when hiking alone. Even if you never need it, it’s always safe and fun to see where someone is hiking!
