I’ve never seen a Red-Winged Blackbird at our bird feeder or even in our yard before. So that was pretty cool in itself. We were both so surprised! I’ve only seen them or heard their calls by the salt marsh and beaches.
This guy has been back for lunch or dinner several times in the past couple of days He waits under the suet feeder for the Woodpeckers to drop some suet on the ground and then he enjoys their leftovers.
What a treat to see a Red-Winged Blackbird in our yard!
I saw this juvenile bird near a couple of adult Eiders at Rock Harbor in Orleans, so I presumed it was a juvenile Eider. He was so cute, just swimming around. And then he stared at me. How cute is that!
Can anyone verify if it is indeed a juvenile Eider?
I had to take some photographs of this beautiful Bluebird in my yard here on Cape Cod. This one was sitting on a branch in front of an Evergreen tree. I loved the dark green background.
Our bird feeders and bird bath have been inundated with American Goldfinches! They are so cute! Most of them are still pretty dark in coloring. They start to turn bright yellow in March through October, so we should start to see them brighten up quite a bit!
This little guy was so cute as he leaned way down to get a drink.
These little sanderlings were gathered together at low tide on Coast Guard Beach in Eastham on Cape Cod. They are such cute little birds and seem to travel as one…in a pack. If one moves to the right, they all do. They love to scurry around on the sandbars. Sanderlings are quite amusing to watch!
Have you ever seen a Sanderling? Such a fun little bird!
