We were driving to the Beech Forest Trail in Provincetown when I saw these purple Spiderwort wildflowers growing by the side of the parking lot. They were so pretty. I had never seen them there before.
“Its colorful, three-petal flowers first emerge in early spring, and range in color from deep blue to bright pink, and less commonly, white. The blooms survive just a single day, opening in the early morning but fading by the heat of the afternoon.” However, they have a long growing season stretching into the summer months.
Have you ever seen a Spiderwort? This was another first for me!
The views of Provincetown Harbor are always changing and never get old, no matter what time of day or what time of year. This morning was spectacular with that dark sky and golden glow on the water. Wow!
The big blue Adirondack chair has been moved from its winter home by the Town Hall on Commercial Street back to its summer home on the beach. Love that view!
I had to add these “fun facts” that Linda commented on this morning:
“We had to get the footstool — otherwise it would have been hard to get in it,” [Tourism Director Tony Fuccillo] says.
“The chair was designed and constructed by a Canadian company and is made out of recycled soda bottles. It came unassembled and Dept. of Public Works employees helped put it together.”
The little alleyways in Provincteown are always cool, and there are so many of them. Each one seems to have a different feeling whether it be summer or winter. Next time you’re in Ptown, don’t forget to look down the alleyways. You might get a big surprise!
