It’s always such a treat to hike the trails at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. There is always so much to see and it is always changing. (Click on blog link for other photo.)
You can hike the Silver Spring Loop Trail where you can see many varieties of wildflowers as well as many different kinds of birds. Or you can hike out to the beach and see the various shorebirds that like to feed there.

There were quite a few seals swimming about at low tide on Coast Guard Beach. It’s always so much fun to see the seals and watch all of their playfulness in the water.
We had quite a few Hummingbirds at the beginning of the summer and then none for many weeks, so we were excited when this Ruby-throated Hummingbird came back this week.
She’s been hanging around the hummingbird feeder and flowers quite a bit, but I really liked this photograph of her resting on a branch in the tree.
I love my early morning bike rides, especially when I get to Rock Harbor and turn around and see this! Wow! Look be at how beautiful the CG36500 looks! What a way to start the day!
It’s Labor Day weekend and almost time for the lifeguards to go back to school. Pretty soon there will be empty lifeguard chairs and quiet beaches… it’s been a busy summer!
