If you haven’t hiked the Salt Pond Trail in Eastham on Cape Cod, put it on your list. It’s part of the National Seashore and takes you through many diverse habitats, even though it is not a long hike.
I loved this photograph of going over the bridge with Nauset Marsh in the background. Aren’t the clouds gorgeous?
We were taking a short hike at Fort Hill on the National Seashore the other day when I saw a lot of commotion out at Nauset Break. I didn’t have my binoculars with me so I zoomed in with my camera and took a few photographs.
When I got home I could see that there were hundreds of birds flying about out there as well as resting on the beaches. I wonder if there was an abundance of fish out there that they were feeding on or why they were there?
The flowers, which have gone by, are still so pretty on the Salt Pond Trail in Eastham on Cape Cod. It is a beautiful little hike which starts at the Visitor’s Center and goes along the Salt Pond, Nauset Marsh and then back through the woods. There are other trails leading off of that one if you feel like a longer hike.
The views are just spectacular. What do you think?
The hike from Doane Rock to Coast Guard Beach on Cape Cape is one of my favorites! You walk through the woods, along the bike trail for a bit, over a bridge on Nauset Marsh where you can see the Coast Guard Station over the trees, through the woods again and then up to a spectacular overlook of Nauset Marsh and Coast Guard Beach.
It was a perfect day with temperatures in the high 50s and a slight breeze with the sun shining brightly. It doesn’t get much prettier!
