The Seaside Goldenrod wildflowers are gorgeous this year and blooming all around the salt marshes here on Cape Cod. I never knew that were different kinds of Goldenrod.
Seaside Goldenrod has larger flowers than all other Goldenrod flowers. The flower are small, just .25 to .5″. The bloom from August through November near the salt marshes, so you still have plenty of time to see these beautiful wildflowers!
I took this photograph at Fort Hill in Eastham. The meadows are full of Goldenrod.
It was fun to take a drive down to Nauset Beach in Orleans yesterday and see the huge waves. The wind has been howling and and the rain has been heavy but the beach is always pretty… sun, clouds, rain, storm, wind. It always takes your breath away.
It’s supposed to be windy for the next couple of days, so take a ride down to Nauset Beach and enjoy!
This Seagull was standing on this rock at low tide at Coast Guard Beach on Cape Cod just yakking away. He was so funny looking with his bill wide open!
It was a glorious day to walk out to Nauset Spit on Cape Cod from Coast Guard Station. Nauset Spit is where Nauset Beach splits and lets the water into Nauset Marsh. It is ever changing with the changing of the beach sand.
The last time we had been there was about 10 years ago before we moved to Colorado. We had paddled our kayaks out through Nauset Marsh and had a picnic in that same spot. It was so much fun.
We are definitely looking forward to getting our kayaks out next summer and paddling out to Nauset Spit for a picnic. Can’t wait!
It was a glorious day to take a hike along Nauset Marsh in Eastham on Cape Cod. As you walk over the bridge there is a little creek on the left where we usually see a Great Blue Heron. In the distance is Coast Guard Beach, one the the Top 10 beaches in the USA! It is spectacular!
