We frequently see coyotes at Fort Hill, searching about for a meal or just laying down basking in the sun. (Click on blog link for other photos.)
It was a quiet morning when we saw this coyote traverse the entire field and then stop in front of us to look out onto Nauset Marsh, as if scoping out the area for his next meal.
I thought they were just beautiful photos. What do you think?
This was such a pretty reflection on the pond on the Beech Forest Trail. I thought perhaps the Wild Irises might be blooming, but this reflection was just as pretty! Look at those clouds! Always something new to see along that trail…
It was a pretty clear and quiet day at Hemenway Landing until the fog started rolling in. You can see it coming in along the shores of Nauset Marsh with the Coast Guard Station in the distance.
And then, just as fast as it rolled in, it rolled right out again!
Every time we hike the Atlantic White Cedar Swamp Trail in Wellfleet, I have to smile whenever I see this guy. He looks like a pre-historic animal who greets everyone along the trail. You can see his mouth and his eye and his very long snout. He even had a few pieces of hair poking out!
Have you ever seen him? Too funny, don’t you think?
We were taking a hike at Fort Hill earlier in the day where we heard many Gray Catbirds calling back and forth, but we couldn’t see them through the heavy brush. (Click on blog link for other photo.)
But, when we got home, there was a Gray Catbird sitting right on our feeder and we were able to get lots of photos. What a treat! Such a beautiful bird!
