I seem to see so many Great Blue Herons way up high in the trees lately. They perch on the branches and then fly down to the salt marsh feed on the fish.
This Great Blue seems to like this tall 30′ tree on the Salt Pond Trail in Eastham. I have seen him there several times lately.
The trail along the Salt Pond by the National Seashore Visitor’s Center in Eastham was so pretty this fall day. You never know what you might see. The sun was shining brightly on Nauset Marsh. We even saw a few Cabbage White butterflies still flying about.
Nothing gives me more pleasure than to see a Great Blue Heron in flight. They are so majestic. There were 6 Great Blues feeding in the tall grass on Nauset Marsh on the island across from Hemenway Landing this past week.
It was quite a ways away, but still beautiful! I clicked away. What do you think?
The paddleboarders are still out and this one was particularly enjoying her paddle around Nauset Marsh. It was a glorious day in the high 60s, before all of the rains came.
What a beautiful place to paddleboard, calm and serene. Love the sun on the water…
I love the hike from the the Visitor’s Center in Eastham around Salt Marsh Pond and then along Nauset Marsh. It’s a wonderful hike along the marsh and then back through the woods.
Last weekend was just beautiful and a perfect day for that hike!
