What a difference a few days makes on Cape Cod. Last weekend I was biking in my shorts and today it is in the lower 20s. Brrr. It is supposed to warm up again this coming week. Hopefully to stay!
I took a walk down to Boat Meadow Beach yesterday just to see the beach and take a little walk. It was cold and windy but the beach was spectacular!
When the tide goes out on Cape Cod Bay, it goes way out and you can walk forever. You have to time it right so you don’t get stuck with the tide is coming in.
Phil took this photograph a couple of weeks ago on a glorious day at low tide. Love the bird tracks in the sand…
It was a beautiful morning to be at Boat Meadow Beach in Eastham on Cape Cod. The skies were beautiful and the setting was just pristine. I love early morning, especially at the beach.
From the blizzard last week to 62 degrees yesterday… Wow! The snow is almost all gone and it feels like spring!
So, I got my bike out and took my first bike ride of the season! It was awesome! I have never biked in February and I even wore shorts! How cool is that?
This is my “selfie” at Boat Meadow Beach on Cape Cod Bay.. My arm isn’t quite long enough, but you can get the picture. 🙂
Phil and I were enjoying a glorious day at Boat Meadow after the snowstorm last week when I saw this duck out of the corner of my eye. It was swimming close to shore and didn’t look very familiar. I had my camera so I clicked away.
I checked my Sibley when I got home but all I came up with was a Thick -Billed Murre which is rare around here, especially on the bayside.
I waited until our friend, who is an astute birder, returned from his vacation and showed him my photograph. Yes, it was a Thick-Billed Murre and he was most jealous! He has never seen one .
How cool is that?!
