American Copper Butterfly On Cape Cod.

I loved this photograph of this American Copper butterfly.  The lighting was so pretty. The American Copper is a small butterfly, only about 1″. It looks quite different with its wings spread wide. You can see some of the coloring in the photograph.

Have you ever seen an American Copper butterfly? So pretty…

Beautiful Buttonbush Wildflowers At The Visitor Center In Eastham On Cape Cod.

Buttonbush wildflowers, also known as “honey balls” grow on a large shrub near swamps and ponds. The flowers are tiny and white and look just like little  pincushions. (Click on blog link to see other photo.)

If you follow the Buttonbush Trail by  the National Seashore Visitor Center in Eastham you can see many of these bushes abundant with flowers down by the pond. They bloom in mid to late August. I had never seen them before and thought they were pretty unique.

I took the first photograph at the end of August and then went back this week and took the 2nd photograph after it had gone by. Pretty cool, don’t you think?

Love This Baltimore Oriole Photograph On Cape Cod.

When all of the Baltimore Orioles had migrated at the beginning of September, there was one left who hung out in our yard for 3 days. We wondered why he was still here and if he would indeed leave. (Click blog link for other photo.)

He was one of the most beautiful Baltimore Orioles that I had ever seen. Look at those colors! So I took a few photographs of him sitting on top of the bird feeder. We wondered if he was wondering where everyone else was. He was the only one still around. And then one day, he was gone too.

Beautiful Baltimore Oriole, don’t you think?
