Yesterday was very windy and and the kite surfers were brightening up the sky with their multi-colored kites by the salt marsh at First Encounter Beach. They were a sight to see!
It was fun just to watch their different moves as they sailed by each other. Did you get to see them yesterday?
The sky behind the dunes at First Encounter Beach the other morning was just spectacular! I stopped to take a photograph but there was one big problem… I couldn’t get my shadow out of the photo! (Click on blog for other photo.)
I tried stepping aside and got a photograph with just the dune but the sky in the background isn’t nearly as pretty as if you take the dune straight-on.
What crazy weather we’ve been having! Two weeks ago I had my winter parka on with hat and mittens and today it’s warm enough to sit on the beach! (Click on blog link for other photo.)
Yesterday started out cool and cloudy, but by 2:00 it had changed to sunny, hot and humid. I took a little bike ride and was so surprised to see all of the cars, and people, at First Encounter Beach. Wow! They were enjoying the first real sunny, hot day this season.
I guess it could be worse… one of my friends from the town where we used to live in Colorado was expecting 18-24″ of snow yesterday!
With extremely windy conditions lately, the kite surfers were out en force on the salt marsh by First Encounter Beach the other day. We counted 9 of them nearby. (Click on blog link for other photos.)
It was so much fun to watch them as they flew by and then did they acrobatics in the sky. Have you ever seen kite surfers?
How cool is that? They’ve got to be really good to all kite surf in such a small area?
