This was such a pretty photograph of Boat Meadow at high tide on Cape Cod. The tides on Cape Cod Bay have a huge swing from high to low. At low tide you can walk for miles whereas at high tide the water gets pretty close to shore.
Early yesterday morning we drove by Boat Meadow Marsh and my favorite bird, the Great Blue Heron, was standing among the reeds in the marsh. Perfect photo op. So when I got home I got my camera and walked back.
Blue (as I call him) was still there. Great! But only for a minute and then he flew away. Oh no! I missed him.
A couple of minutes later I saw 2 large birds flying in the sky. I thought they were courting. They seemed to be in sync.
It wasn’t until I went back and looked at my photographs closely that I realized that an Osprey was chasing the Great Blue Heron.
It’s official! We have moved in to our new home here in Eastham on Cape Cod. It is so exciting!
After many, many hours of unpacking boxes that were packed last June and putting things away, I decided to see how far it was to walk to Boat Meadows…. 9 1/2 minutes! Wow! I can do that any time. And not a bad view, huh?
Plus, there are benches to sit on to relax and just take in the gorgeous scenery.
I will post some photographs of our new home when we get it looking a little bit better. Lots of clutter everywhere, so a walk to the beach was the perfect medicine.
