It was a beautiful summer evening at Coast Guard Beach. You could feel the difference in temperature just walking from the parking lot to the beach. It’s the perfect time to enjoy a nice cool, summer walk on the beach without too many people there.
So pretty, don’t you think? Love the pastel colors…
The Crown Vetch wildflowers are blooming all over Cape Cod and are just gorgeous! Crown Vetch are a bicolored flower which form golf-ball size clusters at the end of stalks. They are a creeping plant which makes a nice ground cover.
I took this photograph on the Nauset Marsh Trail past the amphitheater at the Visitors Center.
“Doane Rock is a glacial erratic located in Eastham, Massachusetts on the grounds of the Cape Cod National Seashore. It is the largest exposed boulder on Cape Cod. It stands 18 feet (5.5 m) high and extends below the ground an estimated 12 feet.”
Doane Rock is a cool place to visit as it has so much history. There are even picnic tables and trails nearby… and, kids love it! The 2nd photo is of one of the trailsĀ from Doane Rock to Coast Guard Beach.
This was such a pretty view of the canoes next to the salt pond by the National Seashore Visitors Center in Eastham. I love that hike overlooking Nauset Marsh and then back through the woods. Have you ever taken the Nauset Marsh Trail?
Fort Hill doesn’t get much prettier with all of the wildflowers growing by the sides of the trails. These Wild Roses were just spectacular… and look at that sky!
