The Silver Springs Loop is one of our favorite hikes at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. It is so diverse and you never know what you will see. (Click on blog link for other photo.)
I took these 2 photographs across the bridge on the hike. I couldn’t decide if I like the horizontal or vertical one better. What do you think?
The trails were all open, but many were one way, and the fall colors were amazing. I loved this photograph of Silver Spring from one of the little docks. The reflections were so vibrant!
The Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is a great place to take the whole family. There is so many different things to see, any time of the year.
As you head out on the main trail from the visitors center, you will see a variety of whale bones on the left of the trail. They are really cool to see and the kids love them! Take some photographs and see if the kids can identify them when they get home!
I was so surprised to see these gorgeous, bright red Cardinal Wildflowers on the Silver Spring Trail at the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. They were just beautiful and growing along the trail by the spring. I’ve never seen them there before at all so this was a big treat!
Have you ever seen a Cardinal Wildflower?
