I was so surprised to see these two shore birds together at Boat Meadow Beach. There was a Semipalmated Plover and a Semipalmated Sandpiper. They just kept hanging out together. (Click on blog link for other photo.)
The Semi-palmated Plover is the bird in the two single photos with a ring around its neck.
It was a pretty day for a fall hike on the White Cedar Swamp Trail in Wellfleet. You could see the sun shining through the trees with the fall colors in the background.
It looks like most of the lobster pots out in Nauset Marsh have been taken in for the winter. You can see a huge stash of them here at Hemenway Landing, waiting to be picked up.
