Red Maple Swamp Trail At Fort Hill On Cape Cod

I have posted several photographs of the boardwalk that goes over the Red Maple Swamp at Fort Hill on Cape Cod. But I have never posted one of the swamp itself.

You can see why a boardwalk is needed when the water is high. (There is still  a little ice  on the swamp.) Even in summer when the water is low, it is very muddy so a boardwalk is much needed to enjoy the hike.

Red Maple Trail is a beautiful hike down a trail in the woods and then through the swamp and, soon you will be able to continue the loop all the way around and back through the meadow!

Pretty, don’t you think?

A Cold Winter Day At Boat Meadow Beach On Cape Cod Bay

What a difference a few days makes on Cape Cod. Last weekend I was biking in my shorts and today it is in the lower 20s. Brrr. It is supposed to warm up again this coming week. Hopefully to stay!

I took a walk down to Boat Meadow Beach yesterday just to see the beach and take a little walk. It was cold and windy but the beach was spectacular!

What do you think?

Old Farm On Cape Cod In Black And White

There is an old farm on the Orleans/Eastham border on Cape Cod that is really fun to hike through. It is not very big but very pretty with a few trails to meander down. You can see the old farm equipment and fences in the area.

I really liked this photograph of the trees and split rail fence in black and white. What do you think?
