I loved the ripples in the sand at low tide here at Coast Guard Beach, part of the National Seashore, on Cape Cod. When I got home and looked at the photograph on my computer, I noticed the little set of bird tracks through it.
Cute, don’t you think? They are quite small… I wonder what kind of bird it was.
What a thrill it was to see the Red-tailed Hawk sitting in a tree in our backyard with a branch in his mouth… and then flying up to the tall pine tree where his nest was last year. It was sooo cool!
We have seen him many times in the past couple of days working on his nest. And then we were wondering… is it the parents that had the nest there last year or is it the baby who has come back?
(Remember the baby who cried incessantly for the first few months of his life? )
Maybe as we see him more we can figure out who it is…
We took this black and white photograph of the boardwalk on Red Maple Swamp Trail the same time we took the photograph of the Fort Hill Trail yesterday.
It’s really cool how you walk on the boardwalk over the swamp on the trail. This time of year it is pretty wet and definitely swampy!
It’s another cool hike at Fort Hill! Kids love it!
