It’s Almost Picnic Time At Boat Meadow On Cape Cod

It was a glorious day at Boat Meadow in Eastham on Cape Cod! The temperatures were in the 50s and the sun was shining brightly. Perfect day for a walk on the beach  at low tide when you can walk out for miles.

And… it’s almost time for a picnic on the beach. The benches are empty now, but not for long!

I can’t wait!

Little Sanderling At Boat Meadow Beach On Cape Cod Bay

This little Sanderling was all by itself at Boat Meadow Beach on Cape Cod Bay. I don’t usually see them alone.

I wonder if the others were hiding out in the tall grasses because it sure was a cold, windy winter day!

Cute little guy, don’t you think?

Paddle Surfing Before The Storm At Coast Guard Beach On The National Seashore On Cape Cod

There were quite a few surfers and paddle surfers out on Sunday at Coast Guard Beach when the waves were starting to roll in but the storm had not hit yet. It was pretty cool to watch… surfers in late January!

The Waves Are Huge At Nauset Beach In Orleans On Cape Cod

With a huge storm looming, the waves at Nauset Beach on Cape Cod were huge! I could barely open the door of my car because of the ferocious winds which are supposed to hit 60-70 mph today. Wow!

You can see the sand blowing. It was hard to stand up on the beach!

Perfect Lighting For This Dove In My Bird Bath On Cape Cod

I happened to look out the window the other day when it was just about dusk and saw these two Doves in my bird bath. The lighting on one of them was just beautiful.

By the time I ran into the other room to show Phil, the sun had gone down.

Pretty photograph, don’t you think? It was really cool to see them there with the snow all around the rim. We have a heater in there so the birds can get a drink or take a bath all through the winter!
