Our bird feeders and bird bath have been inundated with American Goldfinches! They are so cute! Most of them are still pretty dark in coloring. They start to turn bright yellow in March through October, so we should start to see them brighten up quite a bit!
This little guy was so cute as he leaned way down to get a drink.
I posted a photograph of Coast Guard Beach, part of the National Seashore, at the end of February after a huge storm when the beach looked huge! It was almost as if all of the sand from Nauset Beach got swept to Coast Guard Beach a couple of miles away.
So, we were very surprised when we took a walk down to Coast Guard Beach last weekend, after another big storm and there was very little beach even at low tide. You can see how high the tide comes in at high tide now. Look at how the waves have dug out the beach. And this is low tide. Wow!
We Napi’s Restaurant in Provincetown is quite the restaurant! Besides having delicious food, it is filled with artwork. The owner, Napi, has been collecting artwork, a lot of it from local artists, for some time and displays it all around his restaurant.
It is fun to see what Provincetown looked like way back when… there were a few shops and lots of trees downtown.
These little sanderlings were gathered together at low tide on Coast Guard Beach in Eastham on Cape Cod. They are such cute little birds and seem to travel as one…in a pack. If one moves to the right, they all do. They love to scurry around on the sandbars. Sanderlings are quite amusing to watch!
Have you ever seen a Sanderling? Such a fun little bird!
Pretty soon the docks in Provincetown on Cape Cod will be hustling after the long, cold winter.
You can walk out onto the docks and see the fishermen with their boats and whaling boats. There are also many little “shacks” that house artisans who are selling their crafts.
A fun place to visit anytime!
