We have so many beautiful Baltimore Orioles living in our yard here on Cape Cod. They are such a vibrant colored bird and so pretty. They love to eat the grape jelly which I seem to replenish twice a day lately.
This guy caught my eye against the blue sky up in the tree in our backyard.
I had never really seen Queen Anne’s Lace wildflowers when they are finished blooming and getting ready to seed. I posted a photograph of them blooming a few days ago at Fort Hill on Cape Cod.
They fold up into what looks like a little ball with all of the seeds drying on top. You can see the seeds in the photograph. When they are dry they will disperse the seeds with the wind.
This looks like the perfect place to go clamming in Nauset Marsh on Cape Cod. All you need is a rake and a bucket and a raft. Looks like great fun! Can’t find a better view to go clamming!
The Trumpet Creeper wildflowers are growing all over Cape Cod and are gorgeous!
Trumpet Creeper is a woody vine with bright reddish orange tubular-shaped flowers which are about 2″. The plants climb up to 12 feet high and are native to this area. They bloom from July to September on banks, woods and roadsides. You can see some gorgeous ones at the Fort Hill parking lot in Eastham.
