It was a glorious day for the 4th of July parade in Orleans on Cape Cod. There were thousands of excited people waiting for all of the floats to pass by.
This first photograph is of the orleans baseball team, the Firebirds. They were having a great time as everyone was cheering them on.
You can gain access to the Rock Harbor Channel from both Orleans and Eastham. This photograph shows the little shack by the launch ramp on the Eastham side.
There is a handicapped mat, almost like a ramp-type mat, at Coast Guard Beach in Eastham on Cape Cod. It is awesome in that people with wheelchairs can get up and down the mat to access the beach.
Today I saw a man in a wheelchair with big rubber tires using the mat to come up from the beach. How wonderful that handicapped people can get to the beach and enjoy it.
There were a lot of boats, big and small, going in and out of Rock Harbor the other day. It was a nonstop parade of boats.
At Rock Harbor you have to go in or out with your boat about 2 hours before or 2 hours after high tide or you will get stuck at low tide. The tides on Cape Cod Bay have a huge swing.
Rock Harbor has very unique channel buoys. They look like trees planted in the bay. Very cool.
Have you ever been to Rock Harbor?
