It was a perfect day for an early morning bike ride to Rock Harbor and then along the Cape Cod Rails to Trails. There were no cars and no people. I had the place all to myself. Doesn’t get much batter!
Rock Harbor looks beautiful, don’t you think? The clouds were just spectacular!
It was a beautiful day for a bike ride along the shore on Cape Cod. I had just picked up by bike from its “spring tune-up” and it was ready to go… as was I!
This is one of my favorite stops at Boat Meadow along my favorite route. It doesn’t get much prettier!
The bike ride to First Encounter Beach in Eastham is just spectacular as you ride next to the beautiful salt marshes where you can see the Osprey up above and hear all of the morning birds with all their chatter.
If you go past the main parking lot and down the road, you come to 3 different trails over the dunes that will lead you to the beach. One of them is handicap- accessible with its blue rubber mat which make it easier for wheelchairs and strollers. These paths lead to the beach, but far from the main crowd.
It is the most wonderful feeling getting on my bike at 6:00 in the morning before most people are even awake and taking that 10-12 mile bike ride. There is no one around, except that occasional other biker so you have the whole place to yourself.
The views are breathtaking and each day is totally different, depending on the weather and the tides. I took this photograph of my bike at Boat Meadow when it was almost high tide.
It doesn’t get much prettier…
