It was a beautiful day for a bike ride along the shore on Cape Cod. I had just picked up by bike from its “spring tune-up” and it was ready to go… as was I!
This is one of my favorite stops at Boat Meadow along my favorite route. It doesn’t get much prettier!
High tide on Cape Cod Bay has been really high since the storms last winter. Last summer there was plenty of sand to set your beach chair down on at high tide. There is not much sand at high tide now and none as you walk around the corner there.
It will be interesting to see what Mother Nature has in store before summer…
The flats at low tide tide on Cape Cod Bay are different every time you see them. I loved this photograph of the flats between Rock Harbor and Boat Meadow. It’s so amazing how far the tide goes out at low tide and then how far it comes in at high tide.
The “Blue Boxes” have been put on the salt marshes her on Cape Cod to attract those nasty Green Flies and mosquitoes. There’s something inside of the boxes that attracts the insects and then they get stuck inside.
It Is quite amazing how they work. We live very close to the salt marsh and the beach on Cape Cod Bay and rarely see a Green Fly or a mosquito.
You can see how they put them along the sides of the marsh near the edge where people live.
