It Won’t Look Like This For Long At Rock Harbor On Cape Cod!

We took a ride by Rock Harbor yesterday morning and the parking lot by Young’s was already gated shut. I thought I’d better get a photo looking back at the dock where all of the fishing boats used to dock side by side  because that view will soon be gone. You can already see all of the construction equipment staged in the big parking lot.

Everything changes at some point, but sometimes it’s just hard to accept change to something you’ve known for so long.

Donnelly & Richardson At Orleans “Pop Up Practice” Yesterday On Cape Cod.

“Poised at the “elbow” of Cape Cod and boasting a rich maritime heritage, Orleans offers everything people come to the Cape for — beautiful beaches, pristine waterways, picturesque historical sites and one-of-a-kind… everything. With a year-round population near 5,800, you might call us a small town. But we have a BIG focus on the arts. In fact, Orleans was one of the first Massachusetts communities to be officially designated a cultural district by the Massachusetts Cultural Council (out of a total 351 towns and cities in the Commonwealth).”

Yesterday’s Pop-Up Concert at Parish Park featured Peter Donnelly and John Richardson: “Donnelly & Richardson is the coming together of two established Provincetown performers, Peter Donnelly (Coffeehouse at the Mews) and Jonathan Richardson (Crown & Anchor). Together they bring a dynamic and memorable presentation of original and popular music. These talented songwriters and entertainers combine beautiful vocal harmonies, multiple instrumentation and plenty of laughter to their engaging performances.”

These popular “pop-up practices” continue through November, so you still have plenty of time to enjoy them.

The “Other” Coast Guard Beach On Cape Cod… In Truro.

I was so surprised a couple of years ago to learn that there is “another” Coast Guard Beach on Cape Cod. This one is in Truro and is just beautiful! (Click on blog link for other photo.)

Did you know that there are two Coast Guard Beaches on Cape Cod?
