I just loved this photograph of this white Cabbage White butterfly that landed perfectly on this yellow wildflower while we were hiking at Fort Hill.
Pretty, don’t you think?
I love the bright pink Stork’s-Bill wildflowers that bloom very early on Cape Cod. They were one of the first to bloom along the trails in Colorado too.
They are so small and delicate with 5 petals and grow close to the ground. I saw these in huge patches at National Seashore Visitor’s Center in Eastham.
Have you ever seen Stork’s-Bill wildflowers?
We always know when the Red-Bellied Woodpecker is hungry at the Wellfleet Wildlife Sanctuary because you can her squawking from far away! You can walk down the Silver Spring trail and hopefully see her poking her head out of the hole in the tree, which is her home about 20 feet up.
Have you ever seen a Woodpecker’s hole in a tree? Pretty cool, don’t you think?
