I saw this Mockingbird, high up in the tree, singing away while hiking at Fort Hill on Cape Cod. What a pretty photograph with the blue, blue sky in the background!
They are best known for mimicking the songs of other birds often loudly and in rapid succession. Thus they are called the Mockingbird.
Have you ever heard a Mockingbird? They are usually very chatty and let you know they are nearby.
Hemenway Landing in Eastham on Cape cod is a wonderful spot to launch your boat for a tour around Nauset Marsh or just to sit and soak up the beautiful views. You can even see Coast Guard Station across Nauset Marsh. There is always something to watch whether it is a Seagill searching for food or a clammer digging for his dinner at low tide.
I couldn’t decide if I liked the horizontal or vertical photograph better. What do you think?
It was a gorgeous, somewhat spring-like day here on Cape Cod so we decided to hike the Red Maple Swamp Trail at Fort Hill on Cape Cod. The views are spectacular!
Phil took this photograph as we were finishing the Red maple Swamp Trail and heading out to the trail around the meadow. You can see Nauset Marsh and then Nauset Beach way out in the distance.
The Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary on Cape Cod has a lot of great trails to hike. This is one of our favorite’s… through the woods, across the salt marsh and then out to the beaches, as long as it is not near high tide!! 🙂
I loved this photograph of the boardwalk across the Red Maple Swamp at Fort Hill on Cape Cod in black and white. It is such a cool hike and the boardwalk looks like a great place to sit and enjoy the exquisite surroundings.
